Full Build Details

Have you ever wanted to use Staves but Rune Mages laughed at you?
Well, tell them to pick thier jaws up from the floor as you're going to annihilate every enemy on your path.

Now let's look at the build a bit closer.

Fair warning, that build is really mana hungry.

As you could've probably guessed, our main source of damage will be Elemental Discharge skill. I always thought that it had a lot of potential as it can be used with simple rags (no need for fancy imbues), but it just didn't seem as good as other magic options and more like a battle opener, since it takes a whole 10 seconds for it to be ready to fire again.

Now, however, it's no longer the case. With the combination of our equipment and enchants we achieved 35% cooldown reduction alone. We do not even need any boots so you can choose whichever you prefer.

If you don't have Legacy ready, do not worry, we can easily use normal Arcane Robes with combination of any Cool Down Reduction boots. Tenebrous Boots with Speed and Efficiency enchantment will fit our needs perfectly.

Another 40% cd is cut by Daredevil at 4 Alert. That's 75%. We've cut our 10 seconds cooldown in a quarter and we can easily defeat any enemy in the game now.
Moreover, taking Anticipation gives a good protection to cover for any mistakes. I went for Holy Mission to get even more protection as well as some mana use reduction.

Not enough? Going to Caldera? Preparing to fight bosses? Just want to fire EVEN FASTER? Fine, let's add a Purpkin Pie on top to get another 10% to our cd reduction with Energized buff.
At this point Elemental Discharge is ready to fire again immediately after it finishes the animation with effective zero delay.
Alternatively you can go with Sorobor Academy questline and get Logistics Expert to get the same bonus, but as a passive. We don't need to have both Energized buff and Logistics Exper passive, since it will not let us use the Elemental Discharge faster.

I debated a lot what the last breakthrough point to take, but Lockwell's Revelation is too good to be ignored. You need mana anyway, so staying Tired or Very Tired will be very benefitial no matter what and Bloodlust is a good boost to the long term survival potential.
Energizing Potion can work as well but it fully restores sleep to 100%, removing mana regen and Lockwell's Revelation buff.

Gameplay Tips

Here's some tips I learned that can be useful for you:

1. Mana Push allows Probe to stagger most opponents even with very light weapons. Master's Staff is also quite long, giving a good range to safely apply Alert. Mana Ward protects while you're trying to do so.

Safe Probe Stack

Another way to get Alert stack it is by eating Nightmare Mushrooms, which are plentiful now in Definitive Edition.

2. Hexes can give an upper hand even on the toughest enemies and you only need one quickslotted, the same element you imbue your weapon with. I suggest to choose accordingly to the enemy resistance, it's a good way to learn who's vulnerable to what.
But avoid Jinx, it's a boring skill for boring people. ;)
3. I've spent 4 points in mana, there's no need to do more as long as you stay tired.
4. Be prepared to store at least 5 rags of every element. Both imbues and rags do the same damage with Elemental Discharge anyway.
Holy Mission gives us a Light Imbue right from the start on top of the one of the Spellblade's Imbue. It can free some space in pockets early on.
Going for Sorobor Academy will allow us to get Mana Imbue but much later in the game, so it's up to your preference.
5. By the time you build the New Sirocco we can buff our damage even more. Take the Specialist upgrade for your Arena.

6. If you are willing to sacrifice 10% cooldown reduction from the staff, or if you went for Sorobor Academy and have Energized buff as well, you can use any Masterpiece weapon to boost damage further by 25%. I suggest to use Masterpiece Mace to use the Mace Infusion and Dispersion.

For Blasphemous Staff non-believers

7. And I HIGHLY SUGGEST to choose a good-looking facial preset, since our circlet cannot hide your lil pumpkin (female characters have a couple of nice ones).

Have fun!
