Playstyle
This build has a very simple playstyle. Stack alertness levels with probe and then utilize your max cooldown reduction to spam Jinx, Torment, and Blood Bullet as fast as possible. Your cooldowns will be so low you will need to be careful with your positioning as the potential to lock yourself down with animations is a real threat.
Mana Points
I would recommend 5+ points into Mana.

Consider Brains
This build makes extensive use of Energizing Potion so I would recommend crafting them in bulk whenever you are in the Antique Plateau.
You lose a stack of Alertness whenever you take a hit even if that hit does no damage. Blocking a hit protects your Alertness level but Mana Ward does not.
Your choice of Main-Hand weapon has little impact in this build if you have a favorite use that instead!
You do not have to search for the Wolf Medic Armor, you get it for free from your faction quest!

If you choose to use the Virgin Lantern make sure you enchant it! Personally I like Copper Flame for this build, its green!
Early-Game
This build plays like your typical Hex Mage during the early game. Debuff with Jinx and damage with Torment while you kite the enemy. Things get a bit more interesting once you have a few of your skills.
A good start would be to get yourself a full Scholar Set from the alchemist in Cierzo followed by unlocking Mana. I would suggest five points. Follow that up by traveling to Harmattan and picking up Jinx and Torment. After that the game really opens up to you. Personally I would do what I could to make silver for skills. The Antique Plateau is good for this which is great considering you're probably still there!

Stack 4 Alertness levels for 40% cooldown reduction. Stack debuffs with Jinx. Damage with Torment.
Mid-Game
By now you have all of your skills and a pistol. You can really see the build coming together at this point. Debuff, Blood Bullet, and Torment backed by 4 levels of Alertness makes for some serious damage potential.
By this point I would expect to have all the gear listed, just not enchanted.

Stack 4 Alertness levels for 40% cooldown reduction. Use Blood Bullet. Fire imbued pistol shot to apply Elemental Vulnerability. Stack debuffs with Jinx. Damage with Torment. Finish with Rupture.
Late-Game
Enchants!
Finally the build comes to completion and you can rampage around the world snapping your fingers and shooting people. Fun!
No "Late-Game Staple" here. You should know exactly how you like to play by the time you make it here.
Equipment Progression
Progression for equipment will be straightforward for this build.
There is no progression for the weapons in this build. Any one-handed primary will do and the pistol must be the Chimera Pistol.
The same holds true for the armor of this build. You go straight from the Scholar Set to the required pieces.
