Impact Deathknight is a Character Build in Outward, created by Sunrise69.

Summary

Impact Deathknight
Deathknight-style build focused on melee combat with Great Runic Blade - Purely ethereal and decay damage. It is based on using low cd abilities to fight in melee, with Rune Magic to summon weapons and sustain health/protection.

Full Build Details

I have been playing around with different variations of this build for a while, and I came up with this distilled version capitalizing on the strength of Great Runic Blade.

The way to play this build is essentially as a melee character with the utility of Rune Magic, and the option to set up a Sigil of Wind and Runic Trap before difficult fights.

Most fights you will just cast Great Runic Blade and use a Rage Potion. If you are completely surprised the Jade Scimitar/Mace is a backup.

  • For armor, The Tenebrous Set is great for the theme, and buffs our important damage types.
  • For food, I prefer to prioritize convenience:
    • Alpha Jerky is a favourite of mine, as it is your buff and your HP sustain in fights, while also lasting long and being farmable. Rage potions also work.
    • Marshmelon Tartine is essential for stamina regen to fight aggressively.
    • Any mana potions or mana regen food for when you cant use Mana Spark
  • We will also stick to Possessed, Mist and Rage Boons to buff our magic damage and impact.
  • Sleeping in a Luxury Tent is very important because our stamina is lacking without the Warrior Monk Tree
  • For Faction, go with whatever you want for best story immersion! Blue Chamber collective is optimal for some extra mana/stamina though.
  • Get all the miscellaneous passives like fitness and armor training to supplement the main build - I won't go into it.
  • Also get the relevant buff abilities - the ability to grant the mist buff, the possessed buff from the Immaculates, etc...

Optional Late-game extensions from the DLC(s):

  • Late game enchantments - these will help a lot with movement speed and some juicy damage:
  • Use the Haunt and Curse Hexes if you have space on your quickbar (you don't LOL)

Combos

A list of combos that complement each other - you have several so mix them up creatively for varied combat.

In all preparation combos, be sure to cast Great Runic Blade last to get the full benefit of your Jade weapon's mana discount.

  • The short preparation if facing small mobs or walk into a fight unprepared. Getting caught without mana is deadly so watch out for that.

  • Full fight preparation before fighting groups of enemies or elite enemies (When in doubt, rather overprepare and sustain mana between fights with Spark).

  • Rely on Runic Heal instead of potions for sustain. It is very effective if you watch your hp. If you need space better to run away first! Recast Runic Protection if you have spare mana.

  • Parry into sweep combo is your bread and butter for long fights. Once you have used the parry, use sweep kick off cooldown.
Nothing Personal Kid

  • Your Wild Hunter skills have long cooldowns but give great damage. Using Predator leap with sweep kick will most likely knock down enemies.
Badass Deathknight

  • If facing a difficult enemy plan ahead with a trap, wind sigil and a summoned skeleton. You can now burst someone with your elemental damage!
Ethereal Burst Combo

  • Between combat use the following to keep up mana sustain when you see human bodies:

Hope someone tries it out! I love the idea of summoning weapons ever since Skyrim so I want to make this build as viable as possible.
