Mana Reaper is a Character Build in Outward, created by Feepr.

Summary

Mana Reaper
A Hex Mage with style. The Mana Reaper employs cooldown reduction, sigil combos, and the ever popular Moon Swipe to devastate the battlefield. Oh and did I mention the bongos? Yeah.

Playstyle

Mana Reaper.png

This build has a lot going on and has some flexibility on how it is to be played. Many smaller bonuses are combined here to provide a fast paced rotation of abilities. Many tools are available which allow for greater control of your chosen arena if you wish to spend the time setting them all up.

Ideally this build should utilize all of its tools allowing for high damage and survivability. Kiting is the name of the game here, utilizing your ability to deal damage at range. Blood turret and your bongos (Totems) allow you to damage your enemy without even looking at them. Combine this with your standard Jinx and Torment gameplay and you'll clear content with ease.

Alternatively just smacking things with a Mana Infused Ghost Reaper should get the job done.

Mana Points

I would recommend 5+ points into Mana.

Tier 3 Skill Choices

Consider Unsealed.

Additional Equipment
Virgin Lantern.png > Lantern of Souls.png > Mage Tent.png

If you choose to use the Virgin Lantern make sure you enchant it! Personally I think Copper Flame fits well with the aesthetic.

The Chalcedony Backpack was picked because of its low profile. Personally I think it looks best but I do admit the Boozu Hide Backpack would be better for gameplay. It is up to you to decide if you want smoother gameplay or dignity.

Early-Game

As with most builds that incorporate Hex Mage, Jinx and Torment can carry through the entirety of the early game. That said we do have some options with early skills and equipment. You will have both Blood Sigil and Sigil of Wind available to you early. Combine those with Mana Push and Spark, as well as the occasional Moon Swipe, and content should be cleared quickly.

A good start would be to get yourself a Scholar Set from the alchemist in Cierzo and a Fang Halberd. After that save up some silver and grab Jinx and Torment from Harmattan. I would suggest holding off on the Harmattan visit until you can purchase all the skills you want from the trainers there. If you are in a hurry you can just grab Jinx and Torment. As stated above you can clear the early-game with just those skills.

Early-Game Staple

Lightning Spark, Ethereal Bolt, Blood Tendrils
Blood Sigil.png > Sigil of Wind.png > Spark.png > Lightning Spark.png > Mana Push.png > Ethereal Bolt.png > Blood Tendrils.png

Mid-Game

By now you have your skills and enough equipment to use them. There is some work left to be done on the build but you should have the ability to do all the cool things this build does.

While the basic Jinx and Torment spam will still prove capable your potential for greater damage begins now.

You have access to Totems, Blood Turret, and Gift of Blood opening the build to new styles of play. As stated your early game staple will still be useful but if you choose to utilize your new toys you can entirely focus on kiting and dodging. Your Blood Turret will attack enemies unattended and if you kite within range of your Totems you can simply hit them instead of the enemy.

Obviously this is not an optimal use of the tools available to you. A combination of attacks and abilities should be tailored to whatever situation you find yourself in.

A good place to be at this point in the game would have you wielding a Horror Halberd, the Scholar Circlet, Tenebrous Armor, and Tenebrous Boots.

Mid-Game Staple
Moon Swipe.png > Mana Push.png > Jinx.png > Torment.png

Keep in mind Gift of Blood will slowly deal damage to you. I would recommend having some sort of health regeneration or a Life Potion at the ready.

Late-Game

Enchants and equipment completion!

Everything comes together now. You will likely be playing the same game you've been playing since the mid-game. You will be harder, better, faster, stronger. Maybe not harder as defenses on this build are a bit low as you are expected to dodge. Faster for sure though!

It is expected that you will have either a stockpile of Dark Stone or the ability and willingness to acquire them. You will need these in great number.

Equipment Progression

Progression for this build is straightforward thanks to the simplicity and effectiveness of Jinx and Torment spam.

Suggested Halberd Progression
Fang Halberd.png > Horror Halberd.png > Ghost Reaper.png
Suggested Armor Progression
Scholar Attire.png > Clansage Robe.png > Tenebrous Armor.png
Suggested Boots Progression
Scholar Boots.png > Tenebrous Boots.png

The Helm progression is not missing! You simply do not replace your Scholar Circlet. You do eventually enchant it with Arcane Unison however.
