Full Build Details

This build heavily relies on Sweep Kick to knock down enemies - That is why I like to use the Iron Sword. Feel free to replace it with the Tsar Sword, if you want to maintain high impact damage with your standard attacks as well, or if you need to deal raw damage to highly resistant enemies.

  1. Fire your Shatter Bullet to inflict confusion and reduce their physical defense.
  2. Keep your enemies knocked down with sweep kick
  3. Combine light and heavy attacks to dance around the enemy while dealing damage
  4. Predator Leap will help you clearing crowds; this attack also deals flat impact damage on top your weapon's impact

This also works very well with a Marble Shield! Don't forget to inflict Pain with Puncture. Simply replace the gun skills with shield charge and something else (Varnish, Grenades, ...)

You can also firebomb your enemies using lanterns. You will have enough materials to craft some, but it will be very situational. Replace the gun skills with the item Old Lantern and throw lantern. It is fun, but I don't recommend that.

Breakthrough:

  • Rogue Engineer

allows you to dodge fast with any backpack. We carry around a lot of stuff here and we need access to that mid-combat. Advanced Pressure Plate Traps are not only strong - we can reuse them and even rearm during combat. Also: Elemental damage we otherwise have hardly access to.

  • Wild Hunter

Predator Leap. AoE, free impact damage, rather low cooldown, but it eats your weapon. That is why I prefer Iron Sword / Tsar Sword here! That considered it is an amazing tool. More health adds to your survivability and your life potion will fully restore it.

  • Cabal Hermit

It boosts your boons, so you deal more impact and physical damage. You can replace that one, for any other breakthrough.

Items you carry:
Pocket:

  • 8x Rage Potion
  • 15x Great Life Potion
  • 3x Great Endurance Potion

= 13 Weight

Backpack:

  • 1x Pickaxe (take all the Iron you find. It is ammo. You can also de-craft enemy drops to get Iron)
  • 1x Lantern (of your choice)
  • 20x Iron
  • 10x Linen Cloth
  • 5x Salt
  • 15x Charge (Incendiary, Toxic, Nerve Gas - Whatever you feel is appropriate)
  • 5x Pressure Plate Trap
  • 3x Water Skin

= 21.5 Weight

Don't forget your tent (Luxury = 6 Weight), your Cooking Pot (= 3 Weight), your Alchemy Station (= 5 Weight) and Flint and Steel (= .5 Weight)
= 36 Weight altogether

Any remaining space is for loot and Food! That is how I manage my Preservation Backpack.

Combos

1v1
Shatter Bullet.png > Fire and Reload.png > Puncture.png > Sweep Kick.png > Puncture.png > Sweep Kick.png
1vX
Shatter Bullet.png > Rage Potion.png > Fire and Reload.png > Predator Leap.png > Sweep Kick.png > Predator Leap.png > Sweep Kick.png

This is only a suggestion! Weave in light and heavy attacks!
Heal and Brace on demand. Bracing the first attack received can also give you the discipline buff earlier, if you prefer. Consider the long cooldown though! Shatter Bullet allows you to reload quite fast, if required.
