Yzan and Cyrene Dialogue

(#0) Yzan Argenson: I don't believe we will meet again, [PlayerName]. I'm not hanging around to be tried for treason... (→ end)

(#1) Yzan Argenson: [PlayerName]? What in Elatt's name are you doing here? (→ #2)

(#2) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: It's time we ended this war. Elatt demands peace. (→ #3)

(#3) Yzan Argenson: Oh, he "demands" peace, does he? Does he have any idea how we've suffered at the hands of the Blue Chamber? No, we'll make peace when we're good and ready to. Until then, Cyrene controls this kingdom! (→ #4)

(#4) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: What have you done to King Simeon and Queen Calixa? (→ #5)

(#5) Cyrene: We triumphed over our tyrants, that's what. They were ready make peace with our foes after so many of our soldiers were slaughtered. I can't stand by and allow that to happen. We have sacrificed too many lives for this to end peacefully! (→ #6)

(#6) Cyrene: I am the new queen of Levant now. Calixa is dying of a poison that has no cure, and Simeon is beaten and broken. I'll line the bastard up for the firing squad myself! (→ #7)

(#7) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: ... You're the woman with the shield on her back. You shot Zephyrien with that poisoned bullet, didn't you? (→ #8)

(#8) Cyrene: It was nothing personal. Old Levant was demanding to claim Abrassar from us, and there was no doubt in my mind that the Blue Chamber would accept their demands. Our kingdom and ideals would have been destroyed. (→ #9)

(#9) Cyrene: Sirocco would only offer to help us stop them if we killed Zephyrien and gave them half of the land we took in the war. It was an easy choice. One life for the lives of my entire people. (→ #10)

(#10) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: What could he have done to deserve a death that cruel?! (→ #11)

(#11) Cyrene: I don't know and I don't care. Sirocco's reasons are none of my business. (→ #12)

(#12) Cyrene: Enough talk. I don't care if Elatt "demands" peace. He has no power here. Now leave and take that message to him, or you can join Simeon at the firing squad! (→ #13)

(#13) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: Yzan, are you seriously going to let this happen? I thought you believed in the ideals of Levant! (→ #14)

(#14) Yzan Argenson: I still do. It's Calixa and Simeon who lost sight of them. The Blue Chamber tried to starve us all to death! Sagard Battleborn ignored the way of the Blue Chamber Collective and took no prisoners! How could we negotiate peace with them? (→ #15)

(#15) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: Surely you’ve seen all that the Holy Mission has done to end this conflict! We aren't your enemy. (→ #16)

(#16) Yzan Argenson: The lives of our people were threatened. All we ever did was defend ourselves! Why should we crawl to our enemies and beg them to forgive us? (→ #17)

(#17) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: The Blue Chamber is willing to negotiate, even after Levant burned and pillaged their villages. This is proof they're willing to accept a fair peace. (→ #18)
  • 1: Levant attacked them first! You attacked Berg, and you killed one of our Champions! You are the ones who started this disaster! (→ #31)
  • 2: Because all the Blue Chamber Collective did was try to defend itself. How many people were killed by Levant's armies? (→ #32)

(#18) Yzan Argenson: What? I find it hard to believe that they'd actually be willing to negotiate. What motive could they have to pursue a fair peace when they could demand our surrender? (→ #19)

(#19) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: Elatt will ensure they do not take advantage of you. He knows it would only lead to more war. The god of discipline plays no favourites. (→ #20)
  • 1: We will have peace, one way or another. Stand aside. I'm here to speak to the actual rulers of The Heroic Kingdom. (→ #28)
  • 2: I won't let the Blue Chamber take advantage of Levant. I suffered under them too, remember? You can trust me. (→ #29)

(#20) Yzan Argenson: You're asking me to abandon everything in hopes that a faction outside our control can make a fair peace with a dying queen and an injured king! How could you expect that of us? (→ #21)

(#21) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: Open your eyes! You're pitting Levant against a foe you can't possibly beat! Peace is your only chance for survival! (→ #22)
  • 1: So regicide, betrayal and brutal crackdowns on your poorest citizens are the true ideals of Levant? (→ #26)
  • 2: You left Cierzo because of how they forced Roland's problems onto you. You're doing that same exact thing to Levant right now! (→ #27)

(#22) Yzan Argenson: I’ll take that chance. To make peace now would be to surrender to them! How can we trust them after all they've done to us? (→ #23)

(#23) Yzan Argenson: Damn your sharp words. Damn you for making me doubt everything I've sacrificed for. Cyrene... I can't continue what we started. If you want to kill [PlayerName], you'll have to do it yourself. (→ #24)

(#24) Cyrene: Yzan, you spineless coward! If you won’t fight for your Queen and country, then you are worthless to me! I’ll see you both shot for this! (→ end)

(#25) Yzan Argenson: Enough lies! Levant is my home, and I will not let it continue to be destroyed! I will fight for it. I would die for it! And if I must kill you for it, then so be it! (→ end)

(#26) Yzan Argenson: It's what the damned Blues pushed us to! We never wanted any of this! (→ #23)

(#27) Yzan Argenson: I... No, you can't say what we're doing is the same! I'm just... I'm trying to protect them! I don't... Damn you, [PlayerName]! (→ #23)

(#28) Yzan Argenson: If he does not recognize Cyrene as the new Queen of Levant, then we do not recognize Elatt's power over Abrassar. We have no need of gods to tell us what to do. (→ #21)

(#29) Yzan Argenson: I want to trust you... But what you're asking is far beyond either of us. The entire kingdom is at stake! (→ #21)

(#30) Yzan Argenson: You think I've forgotten how you mugged me, you rat?! Why in Elatt's name should I trust you?! (→ #21)

(#31) Yzan Argenson: Only to defend ourselves from Old Levant's absurd demand that they control the entire region. It would have been the end of Levant. And even then, it was only a rogue offshoot of our army that led that attack, and yet the whole of Levant was punished for it! (→ #19)

(#32) Yzan Argenson: Yeah? If their strategy to starve us all to death had succeeded, even more would have died! We had to pillage every village we attacked just to survive! (→ #19)

Council Debate #1

(#0) Cardinal Bourlamaque: We gather here today under Elatt's eye to bring an end to the hostilities between the Blue Chamber Collective, and the Heroic Kingdom of Levant. (→ #1)

(#1) King Simeon: Seriously, the Blue Chamber took their sweet-ass time getting ready! How can we be sure that they even want peace? (→ #2)

(#2) Elatt: Enough squabbling! Too much blood has been spilled! Sit, and reach a peaceful conclusion like adults! (→ #3)

(#3) King Simeon: Are we even discussing terms with the full authority of the Blue Chamber Collective? I've heard of at least one tribe refusing to even speak about peace with us. (→ #4)

(#4) Rissa Aberdeen: Our current state is none of your concern. Anyone that opposes our treaty will be dealt with severely, I assure you. (→ #5)

(#5) Queen Calixa: As long as you can assure us that you can maintain the peace, very well. We will treat this discussion as if it was with the entire Collective. (→ #6)

(#6) Rissa Aberdeen: If we are to make peace, we require war reparations for the villages that were destroyed, as well as half your store of firearms and the knowledge to make more. (→ #7)

(#7) King Simeon: What, why? You want to cripple us? We need those weapons just to deal with the beasts of Abrassar! Do you expect us to just disarm ourselves and hand over our weapons to the enemy? (→ #8)

(#8) Rissa Aberdeen: We don't want your disarmament. We simply wish to be on equal military footing. It will prevent future conflict. (→ #9)

(#9) Queen Calixa: Should we really arm you, knowing that your people may want revenge for their fallen kin? It’s hard to believe you’re negotiating in good faith, Lady Aberdeen. (→ #10)

(#10) Queen Calixa: We need assistance in rebuilding our kingdom. Our food supplies and military are all severely damaged and depleted. We’re barely able to hold Levant together. (→ #11)

(#11) Rissa Aberdeen: If food is what you need, we’ll provide our excess grain freely and see that it makes its way to Levant with all possible speed. In exchange, we want full compliance on your sharing of your firearms. (→ #12)

(#12) Queen Calixa: Good. I may not be long for this world, but I need to know that my kingdom will be left in capable hands. (→ #13)

(#13) King Simeon: Hey! Elatt! You said you could save her! Get on with it before she collapses again! (→ #14)

(#14) Elatt: Fear not. Calixa has shown incredible strength of will, and an unwavering commitment to the needs of her people. She has sought progress and improvement with a zeal that rivals any I’ve ever seen. (→ #15)

(#15) Elatt: Not only are these the traits that the Heroic Kingdom needs in order to thrive, but they are the keys to giving Calixa the power to survive her death and truly bring Levantine dream to life, as the newly arisen goddess of Levant. (→ #16)

(#16) Queen Calixa: I... do not understand what you just said. What do you mean you want me to become the "goddess" of Levant? (→ #17)

(#17) Elatt: I will be blunt. The poison you were beset with contained very potent blood from a Scourge Beast. That Corruption still courses through your spirit. Though the poison itself has been cleansed, the Corruption will still claim you, and turn you into something less than human. (→ #18)

(#18) Elatt: In order for you to survive, you must become more than what you are. You must become Living Thought, as I have. And I believe that once you ascend, you will be able to lead your people into prosperity. Not just in your mortal lifetime, but in every lifetime to come. (→ #19)

(#19) Elatt: It is a drastic solution, but it is the only one that ensures the dream of the Heroic Kingdom will continue. Will you take on the mantle of godhood for your people, Calixa? (→ #20)

(#20) Queen Calixa: This...This is rather sudden, but if it's the only way I can continue to serve my people, then yes. I'll give up my humanity if I can keep the Levantine dream alive. What do I need to do? (→ #21)

(#21) Rissa Aberdeen: I must express concern about introducing further religious uncertainty. I’ve been informed that there was a small massacre of “heretics” here recently. To suddenly introduce a new goddess now would only inflame further strife! (→ #22)

(#22) Cardinal Bourlamaque: That tragedy was dealt with as best that humankind is capable. We may falter, but despite our failings, we would die to protect the people of both your factions. (→ #23)

(#23) Elatt: To any who wish to object, hold your tongues. I will not see this peace declared, only for Levant to crumble in its execution. This will bring further balance to Aurai. The Blue Chamber has me as their god. Calixa's ascension will only even the scales. (→ #24)

(#24) Elatt: Further, you must understand that even I have my limits. With just one god present in Aurai, the Scourge will never be eradicated, and we will never progress past what we are now. We will never do more than just "survive" if I am the only god humanity can depend on. (→ #25)

(#25) Rissa Aberdeen: I know my place. I cannot argue with a literal god... but please, consider the implications of your actions. (→ #26)

(#26) Cardinal Bourlamaque: So, are we agreed? Peace will be declared, Queen Calixa will be saved by ascending to divinity, Levant will share their weapons with the Blue Chamber, and they will send food to Levant for the foreseeable future. Is this acceptable to all parties? (→ #27)

(#27) Queen Calixa: I agree to these terms. Simeon? (→ end)

(#28) Rissa Aberdeen: By “beasts” do you mean your own people? Perhaps a few less firearms in the hands of fools will make keeping order a little easier! (→ #8)

(#29) King Simeon: Are we even discussing terms with the full authority of the Blue Chamber Collective? I hear that your Collective is at each others throats over these talks! (→ #30)

(#30) Rissa Aberdeen: The war broke many tribes. I assure you that the majority of the Collective will punish the minority that refuses peace, if they dare to violate our treaty. (→ #31)

(#31) Queen Calixa: That's not reassuring to me. Any faction opposed to peace, no matter how small, could reignite conflict easily. (→ #6)

(#32) King Simeon: Not to mention that the Holy Mission has been dragging out the preparations for negotiations for far too long! We should have started days ago! (→ #2)

(#33) Rissa Aberdeen: Forgive us for any delay on our end. One of our tribes has turned against us all. I fear they plan to begin a civil war, armed with a small army of ghosts and undead. Precautions had to be taken. (→ #2)

Council Debate #2

(#0) King Simeon: I can live with these terms. This isn't the peace I want, but it's one I can accept. (→ #1)

(#1) Rissa Aberdeen: Very well. The Blue Chamber Collective accepts these terms of peace. (→ #2)

(#2) Cardinal Bourlamaque: Then we’ve reached an agreement. The pact will be sealed with the exchange of gifts and by sharing a drink of Peacemaker's Elixir. Blessed by Elatt, it will grant health and long life to those who’ve worked so hard to obtain peace. (→ #3)

(#3) Queen Calixa: On behalf of the Heroic Kingdom of Levant, I offer an exquisitely cut Tsar Stone, a gemstone of unequalled beauty and power. (→ #4)

(#4) Cardinal Bourlamaque: And on behalf of the Holy Mission of Elatt, I offer the Peacemaker's Elixir, which grants long life, endurance, and spiritual growth. (→ #5)

(#5) Cardinal Bourlamaque: [PlayerName], you have done much to aid in securing this peace. Come, drink the Peacemaker's Elixir with us. (→ #11)

(#6) King Simeon: I'm not happy about it, but yes, I agree as well. I don't see much room to wiggle here. But don't expect our guns to come cheap, Lady Aberdeen… (→ #7)

(#7) Rissa Aberdeen: You don't leave me much choice. I agree to those terms. (→ #8)

(#8) Cardinal Bourlamaque: Then we’ve reached an agreement. The pact will be sealed with the exchange of gifts and by sharing a drink of Peacemaker's Elixir. Blessed by Elatt, it will grant health and long life to those who’ve worked so hard to obtain peace. (→ #9)

(#9) Cardinal Bourlamaque: And on behalf of the Holy Mission of Elatt, I offer the Peacemaker's Elixir, which grants long life, endurance, and spiritual growth. (→ #10)

(#10) Cardinal Bourlamaque: [PlayerName], you have done much to aid in securing this peace. Come, drink the Peacemaker's Elixir with us. (→ #11)

(#11) Elatt: Then Calixa's ascension must begin immediately. Leave the temple and gather your troops. Prepare to defend the city. (→ #12)

(#12) Rissa Aberdeen: Defend against what? (→ #13)

(#13) King Simeon: Yeah, didn't we just agree to peace terms? (→ #14)

(#14) Elatt: The ascension ritual will magnify my presence here. It will attract any Scourge within the entire marsh. In their frenzy they will ignore even the agony caused by the Vigil crystal to attack Monsoon. (→ #15)

(#15) Elatt: I cannot perform the ritual and hold off the Scourge at the same time. I must rely on all of you to protect our people until Calixa's ascension is complete. (→ #16)

(#16) Rissa Aberdeen: I brought some soldiers with me. I'll get them ready to fight. (→ #17)

(#17) Queen Calixa: Our troops will do the same. Simeon, for once, you have to be my shield! (→ #18)

(#18) King Simeon: I’m going to fight hard enough for both of us, love. You focus on your own ordeal. (→ #19)

(#19) Elatt: All of you who serve the Holy Mission, come to my altar in the temple. I have need of you all. (→ end)

(#20) King Simeon: Only if our weapons are shared exclusively with their official armies, and no one else. We're looking to balance the power of our factions, not to arm every mercenary with advanced weaponry. (→ #21)

(#21) Rissa Aberdeen: You don't leave me much choice. I agree to those terms. (→ #22)

(#22) Cardinal Bourlamaque: Then we’ve reached an agreement. The pact will be sealed with the exchange of gifts and by sharing a drink of Peacemaker's Elixir. Blessed by Elatt, it will grant health and long life to those who’ve worked so hard to obtain peace. (→ #23)

(#23) Cardinal Bourlamaque: [PlayerName], you have done much to aid in securing this peace. Come, drink the Peacemaker's Elixir with us. (→ #24)

(#24) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: Thank you. I accept it. (→ #11)

(#25) King Simeon: Not a chance. If the Blue Chamber wants peace, they'll need to foot the bill for all the men we've lost. If Calixa's life wasn't on the line, I'd be just about ready to flip this table over. You can't ask us to make peace on terms this unfavorable for Levant! (→ #26)

(#26) Rissa Aberdeen: My people demand repayment for the many destroyed lives and homes. To agree to terms this unfavorable would tear the Blue Chamber Collective apart. I cannot agree to them in good faith. (→ #27)

(#27) Cardinal Bourlamaque: If repayment for lost homes and lives is what is needed to secure peace, then the Holy Mission will cover the cost. We understand that compromise is needed. (→ #28)

(#28) King Simeon: I can live with that. I can walk away considering this war a victory for us. (→ #29)

(#29) Cardinal Bourlamaque: Very well. The Blue Chamber Collective accepts these terms of peace. (→ #30)

(#30) Cardinal Bourlamaque: Then we’ve reached an agreement. The pact will be sealed with the exchange of gifts and by sharing a drink of Peacemaker's Elixir. Blessed by Elatt, it will grant health and long life to those who’ve worked so hard to obtain peace. (→ #11)

Calixa's Ascension

(#0) Elatt: Good, everyone needed for the Ascension is present. (→ #1)

(#1) Queen Calixa: So, what do I need to do? How does this work? (→ #2)

(#2) Elatt: Your body is beyond saving. Your spirit, however, is another story. The keys to divinity are an unyielding will in the face of certain death, and the full power of a Ley Line to fuel the spell. (→ #3)

(#3) Elatt: I will divert Mana from across the Hallowed Marsh and temporarily create a new Ley Line under Monsoon. From you, Calixa, I will need your iron will. (→ #4)

(#4) Elatt: The spell that led me to godhood was designed to destroy the entirety of my being. Only by resisting the spell and refusing to die was I able to survive it and be transformed. I will need you to show the same self-discipline and force of will. (→ #5)

(#5) Queen Calixa: You need to use a giant source of Mana to kill me, and I just have to survive it. Well, it's not like I have anything left to lose. Let’s do it. (→ #6)

(#6) Elatt: I can guide you through the process and help you understand what to do, but ultimately, only you can transcend your own mortal flesh, Queen Calixa. Brace yourself. (→ #7)

(#7) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: Do you have a way to deal with the consequences of the spell, Elatt? How can we prevent another Scourge from happening? (→ #8)
  • 1: Didn’t the spell cause the Scourge when you survived it, though? We can't do that again, in the middle of Monsoon! It would be a catastrophe! (→ #8)

(#8) Elatt: Fear not. I have planned for this danger. Those of you who have reached the rank of Disciple, I call upon your aid. You are trained to absorb and destroy Corruption. I ask of you to join in my spell and dive your spirits into Calixa's. (→ #9)

(#9) Elatt: I ask you to be a human barrier to contain the Corruption that the Ascension will unleash. But know that to take on such a task is to choose death. If the Corruption does not kill you now, then it will in a scant few weeks. (→ #10)

(#10) Elatt: I cannot force you to give your lives, so I ask that you give them willingly. Will seven of you give your lives so that Calixa will Ascend without bringing further ruin to Aurai? (→ #11)

(#11) Cardinal Bourlamaque: I will gladly give my life to prevent a second Scourge! I have no doubt that most of us are willing. Tell us what we must do, and we will see it done, Elatt. (→ #12)

(#12) Ellinara: If Calixa’s Ascension is necessary and our deaths can prevent a second Scourge, I'm willing to sacrifice my life. (→ #13)

(#13) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: What do you want me to do, Elatt? (→ #14)
  • 1: I want to help. Let me take Ellinara's place. (→ #17)

(#14) Elatt: You, as a Champion, should be on the front lines of the defense. (→ #15)

(#15) Elatt: Go forth and protect Monsoon with your life. Do not let a single Scourge Beast reach the temple! The safety of the city is in your hands. (→ end)

(#16) Elatt: I need you to join the defense of Monsoon, Templar. (→ #15)

(#17) Elatt: [PlayerName], if you do this, know that you will perish. Even if you survive the initial task, you will have at most a month to live. (→ #18)

(#18) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: What do you want me to do, Elatt? (→ #14)
  • 1: I want to help. Let me take Ellinara's place. (→ #19)

(#19) Elatt: You are certain? You have much of your life ahead of you. You will truly take on this certain doom? You choose to willingly give up your life? (→ #20)

(#20) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: What do you want me to do, Elatt? (→ #14)
  • 1: Yes. I'm willing to sacrifice myself to contain the Corruption and spare Ellinara. (→ #21)

(#21) Elatt: You are committed now, [PlayerName]. Join the circle and brace yourself. (→ #22)

(#22) (As you center your focus into Calixa, you feel Elatt's power fill you with great warmth. Then, for a brief painful moment you feel yourself torn from your very body, your spirit plunging into her.) (→ end)
