Dialogue

(#0) Markus: I’m afraid I’m quite busy, perhaps some other time. (→ end)

(#1) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: Farewell. (→ end)
  • 1: I want to train with you. (→ #17)

(#2) Markus: If you’re looking for the old fight club, it’s been closed down. Cyrene got wind of it. I’ve gone legit now, honest! I’m just a simple cactus farmer these days, I swear! (→ end)

(#3) Markus: Ouch. You don't pull your punches, do you? Alright, a deal is a deal. What did you want to know? (→ #4)

(#4) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: Tell me where I can find the Sand Corsairs. (→ #5)

(#5) Markus: Whoa whoa whoa, no deal. They'd slit my throat in my sleep if I ratted on them! (→ #6)

(#6) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: I could just spread the word that you leaked their location, and they’d kill you anyway. (→ #7)
  • 1: Maybe I should ask Cyrene to interrogate you, then. (→ #7)
  • 2: Tell me or I’ll be the one slitting your throat. Cyrene will pardon me for anything I have to do to get this information. (→ #7)

(#7) Markus: They're bad people, so I'll just tell you. They keep their operations really tight, so I don't know where they operate from. But I do know that the food the Corsairs are drip-feeding into the slums comes from an old ruined tower. (→ #8)

(#8) Markus: It's not far from the city. Head south of Levant. West of that sea of sand, there's a little canyon entrance along the mountain walls. The ruined tower is at the end of it. (→ #9)

(#9) Markus: And get this, those guys are from the Blue Chamber Collective. One of those guys fought here the other day and I swear, clear as day, he had the Sutherland Family Crest tattooed on his shoulder. (→ end)

(#10) Markus: Ooh, you look tough. Looking to wager some silver on a fight? I’ve got an opening I need to fill. One of my usual guys got eaten by a bug out there. (→ #11)

(#11) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: Not interested, sorry. (→ end)
  • 1: You seem shady enough. I'm looking for some information. (→ #12)
  • 2: I want to train with you. (→ #17)

(#12) Markus: If you want something from me, you'll earn it in the ring. I run a fight club under the city. Entry fee for one round is 50 silver. If you can beat me, I'll consider talking. (→ #13)

(#13) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: Not interested, sorry. (→ end)
  • 1: Ok, let’s do it. (→ #14)
  • 2: I want to train with you. (→ #17)

(#14) Markus: Alright, come find me down there, and put on a good show, eh? (→ end)

(#15) Markus: You want a rematch, pal? (→ #13)

(#16) Markus: Sorry, I’ve got nothing for you right now. If you’re in the mood for a little blood sport, come around in a bit, I might have room for ya. (→ end)

(#17) Markus: It’s gonna run you 50 silvers, but I can teach you a technique. It’s a short strike with a lethal twist that inflicts a lasting pain on the victim. Real useful to shank someone who owes you money. (→ #18)

(#18) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: Deal, here’s your money. (→ #19)
  • 1: I'm fine, thank you. (→ end)

(#19) Markus: Ok, then, put ‘em up, and I’ll show you how it’s done! (→ #20)

(#20) Markus: Perfect. The key is to jam your sword up and under their armor if you can. Use one sharp jab and then twist hard! (→ end)

Levant Martial Law

(#0) Markus: I'm just a merc, but I still can't let you in. There’s people who fled the city who went to hide near the oasis, I think. They’ll be more inclined to chat with you than I am. (→ end)

(#1) Markus: I didn’t see you. Go ahead, pal. (→ end)

(#2) Markus: No one gets into Levant without Cyrene’s approval, and you’re on the blacklist, pal. You ain’t getting into the slums, not unless you want me to call in a dozen reinforcements! (→ #3)

(#3) Markus: ...Ah, who am I kidding. You’re quick enough that you’d shank me before I put the damn whistle to my lips. I didn’t want to get conscripted into this damn coup anyway. Get in there and stop this damn mess would you, [PlayerName]? (→ end)

(#4) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: I need to stop this damn coup. Let me in, or else! (→ #5)

(#5) Markus: Yeah, as much as I hate being conscripted into this coup, there’s no way I’m betraying it while my boss and his reserve troops are around. If they came back and found out I let you through, I'm finished. (→ #6)

(#6) Markus: ...Tell you what. They’ve set up camp inside the old Sand Rose Quarry to the East. It’s that sunken valley with the wooden elevator. You make sure they’re never a problem to me again, and I’ll let you into the slums. (→ #7)

(#7) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: I took out those reserve toops and your boss. Let me in. (→ #8)
  • 1: Alright, I’ll do it. (→ end)

(#8) Markus: Hot damn, you’re a lifesaver. Alright, I didn’t see you. Go in and out as you please. Good luck getting into the palace. You’ll need it. (→ end)
