making a template

Hello, can anyone teach me how to fix or make the template for NPCs? I kinda started one but I'm lost @ https://outward.gamepedia.com/Template:Infobox_npc I don't know how to make the infobox align Right, put a border on it, fix the dimensions of the infobox, and basically all other things that make it look different from existing infoboxes. Should ingredients be included in or a different subcategory from components? Ernestopresto (talk)

I feel mostly like ingredients should be included in the components category except that cooking food, alchemy, and crafting equipment are treated as three separate systems.

  • I was under the impression that components should be reserved for equipment crafting, and ingredients for consumable/misc item crafting whatgoat (talk) 01:57, 3 April 2019 (UTC)
    • I think this is a good idea. Ingredients for consumables (alchemy and cooking) and components for equipment crafting, maybe? Two distinct subcategories is probably best. Ernestopresto (talk) 02:37, 3 April 2019 (UTC)

Tackling the Crafting Section

In my opinion, the crafting section is pretty simple considering the weight that crafting has in this game. I'd like to take on the project of revamping the section but am not sure if there's a protocol to follow when basically redesigning an entire page. I have some screencaps from the game and a bit of text prepared in a notepad++ doc. I'm still quite new to wiki editing and am basically looking for a seasoned editors blessing to go ahead and take the job on. I really enjoy this game and want to help other people enjoy it as well!   • i'd say go nuts on the page, it's pretty barebones right now and the bulk of information on crafting is on the Recipes page. I'm fairly new to wiki editing myself but its not too hard to pickup if you know where to look. whatgoat (talk) 03:18, 3 April 2019 (UTC)

I have feeling that this page is kinda over cluttered. I believe we could streamline it into "Survival Crafting only" page, showcasing only things that player can craft in the menu. Then we could split recipes into categories of weapons, armors etc.

My main point is to leave Cooking and Alchemy separate to reduce clutter. But hey, that's just my opinion ;) MrForien51070 (talk) 21:44, 8 April 2019 (UTC)

Outward Wiki Discord?

Armor Usage without Mana being unlocked

Are you still able to equip armor that has -negative mana usage without having unlocked Mana usage for your character? Example: your character’s Mana amount is zero because you haven’t yet unlocked the ability to use Mana in the game, yet you wish to equip armor that has a -mana negative attribute. Is that armor piece still fully viable, even though you have Mana to expend? X snakeater x (talk) 13:38, 18 February 2020 (UTC)
