Looking to the Future

(#0) Queen Calixa: Your face isn't familiar to me. You must be new to Levant. Welcome to the Heroic Kingdom, where our hope is to give every person the chance to do what they excel at, and the chance to live the life they wish to live. (→ #1)

(#1) King Simeon: I am King Simeon, and this is my Queen, Calixa. My gut tells me that you’re skilled in survival. I’m sure you’ll be a great asset as a mercenary. (→ #2)

(#2) Queen Calixa: We are constantly under threat by the beasts and bandits of the desert. If you can help us, we are overjoyed to have you. (→ #3)

(#3) Queen Calixa: Will you, [PlayerName], pledge your service to the ideals of the Heroic Kingdom of Levant? To help us create a place where humankind can do more than just survive? (→ #4)

(#4) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: I don’t think I’m the right person for this. Sorry. (→ #5)
  • 1: I pledge myself to the Heroic Kingdom. (→ #6)

(#5) King Simeon: That’s a shame. If you change your mind, the kingdom will be waiting. (→ end)

(#6) Player: (This is a turning point in my life... Am I certain I wish to pledge my life to the Heroic Kingdom of Levant?) (→ #7)

(#7) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: I don’t think I’m the right person for this. Sorry. (→ #8)
  • 1: I pledge myself to the Heroic Kingdom. (→ #9)

(#8) King Simeon: That’s a shame. If you change your mind, the kingdom will be waiting. (→ end)

(#9) Queen Calixa: Excellent. The Heroic Kingdom of Levant is happy to have you, citizen. If you’re looking for work, I’m sure Cyrene has plenty that pays well. (→ end)

(#10) Queen Calixa: I am sorry, but unless you have official business here, I do not have the time to spare for a visitor. (→ end)

General Dialogue

(#0) Queen Calixa: Cyrene told us about your work bringing down Pietro's plot against us. Thank you for bringing his terrible ambitions to an end. (→ #1)

(#1) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: What will happen to Prince Pietro now? (→ #2)

(#2) Queen Calixa: An example must be made of him. That's what the firing squad is for. It breaks my heart, but... I must put the good of Levant above my feelings. He cannot be allowed to live after what he’s done. (→ #3)

(#3) King Simeon: Not to mention he was planning to kill us both the moment he had a chance! There are few things I can't forgive, and harm to my wife is one of them! I'm ashamed that he shares my blood. We raised him to be better than this. (→ #4)

(#4) Queen Calixa: Without an heir, the succession of Levant is thrown into chaos. There will surely be more opportunists who will try to position themselves to claim Levant the moment one of us is gone. Things will be difficult for the forseeable future. (→ #5)

(#5) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: What about the Baron? (→ #6)

(#6) Queen Calixa: It appears he was putting pressure on many of our merchants as well. With the Baron out of the picture, I'm certain their prices will return to normal. (→ #7)

(#7) King Simeon: I hear that you played a pivotal role in cracking this conspiracy, [PlayerName]. I'd like to grant you Baron Montgomery's manor as a reward for your actions. You deserve a little luxury after all you've done! (→ #8)

(#8) King Simeon: Go see the servant standing around outside the manor, and they’ll give you the key to your new home. Enjoy it, [PlayerName]! (→ #9)

(#9) Queen Calixa: We might well owe you our lives, [PlayerName]. You’re always welcome here in the Heroic Kingdom. (→ end)

(#10) King Simeon: Cyrene tells me that you gave her the information she needed to solve this case, [PlayerName]. Thank you for your efforts. (→ #11)

(#11) King Simeon: Now that Baron Montgomery is behind bars, his house will be put up for sale. If you want it, you’ll get preferential treatment. Pay the servant outside the manor, and it’s all yours. (→ #9)

(#12) King Simeon: Cyrene tells me that you gave her the information she needed to solve this case, [PlayerName]. Thank you for your efforts. (→ #9)

(#13) Queen Calixa: We had troops waiting at every entrance to those tunnels, he didn't get far. Because he has decided to co-operate with the investigation, we will spare his life. He will spend the rest of it in an open-air cell in the slums, however long he can survive that open heat. (→ #6)

(#14) Queen Calixa: I am sorry, but unless you have official business here, I do not have the time to spare for a visitor. (→ end)

Tending the Flame

(#0) Queen Calixa: Kirouac told me what you did for him. I’ve informed Cyrene that you should be well rewarded. (→ #1)

(#1) Queen Calixa: Now, to figure out who could have infiltrated us and sparked this war. The Sand Corsairs? Old Levant causing a false flag attack? People within the Blue Chamber itself? Gah, we need more leads. (→ end)

(#2) Queen Calixa: Why would Old Levant make a claim to the region now? They’ve rejected our open door for years on end... This must be connected to my son’s murder. It has to be. The timing is too convenient. (→ #3)

(#3) Queen Calixa: Oh, [PlayerName]. Cyrene was looking for you out in front of the palace. She said it was important. (→ end)

(#4) Queen Calixa: I am sorry, but unless you have official business here, I do not have the time to spare for a visitor. (→ end)

Sand Corsairs

(#0) Queen Calixa: Ah, you. Levant needs your help. Cyrene will have all the details for you. Until these Sand Corsairs are dealt with, the fate of Levant is balanced on a knife’s edge. If Sirocco were to stop sending us food... (→ end)

Mouths to Feed

(#0) Queen Calixa: Sadly, it comes too late for many people. Our supplies of food were so depleted that they had to be severely rationed while you were gone. The slums went into open revolt. There's... no one left. (→ #1)

(#1) Queen Calixa: Dammit... I should have done something more... Sent more people, more money, something. I've failed my people. (→ #2)

(#2) King Simeon: We did the best we could, Calixa. If I didn't put down the slum revolt, they would have sacked and burned the city. It's a tragedy, but there's nothing more we could have done. (→ #3)

(#3) King Simeon: Either way, Levant lives to fight another day because of your help, [PlayerName]. You deserve a reward. (→ #4)

(#4) Queen Calixa: We will call on you again when we have a task that needs your talents. In the meantime, we have a war to deal with. (→ #5)

(#5) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: The moment Levant needs me, send word. (→ #6)
  • 1: I want to fight on the front lines too! (→ #7)

(#6) Queen Calixa: That we shall, [PlayerName]. You have earned our trust. (→ end)

(#7) Queen Calixa: Talent such as yours would be wasted out there. Canon fodder rarely makes a difference. But here, you’ve proven you can do more than five men. (→ end)

(#8) Queen Calixa: [PlayerName]! You're a miracle worker! The first shipment of Marshmelons showed up right before you did! (→ #9)

(#9) Queen Calixa: We managed to avert disaster completely because of your efforts. As far as I'm concerned, you have more than risen to the ideals of the Heroic Kingdom. (→ #10)

(#10) King Simeon: I'll second that. Slaying some massive beast is always impressive to talk about, but saving so many lives from famine is a much nobler deed. (→ #11)

(#11) Queen Calixa: Oh, by the way, Kirouac told me that during his experimentation he created a mixture that seems to permanently increase one's strength. He wanted you to have it. He also said to drink it straight away before it spoiled. (→ #12)

(#12) King Simeon: Thank you for your efforts. As king of Levant, I have a gift from our armory. You have more than earned it for your hard work, [PlayerName]. (→ #4)

(#13) Queen Calixa: Levant's survival is on the line. Make it happen. Find Kirouac and Laine in Monsoon as soon as you can. (→ end)

(#14) Queen Calixa: Thank you for coming, [PlayerName]. Levant is in grave danger. Not only has the war turned against us, but we face imminent famine. We need a mercenary who can get things done. (→ #15)

(#15) Queen Calixa: Disaster has struck Sirocco. They can no longer send food to Levant. Without the steady supply of goods from their region, it's only a matter of time before starvation begins. We need a new food source. (→ #16)

(#16) Queen Calixa: The city of Monsoon in the Hallowed Marsh has offered to supply us, but the small amount of bread and dried meat isn't enough. Yet, everything else perishes on the desert journey... (→ #17)

(#17) Queen Calixa: Kirouac has gone to Monsoon to work with their alchemist, Laine Aberforth to find some kind of food that might last long enough to survive the journey. Do anything you can to make this work. (→ #18)

(#18) Queen Calixa: I've heard you've done a lot to help the slums! Right now they have a steady food supply, and enough rations to last about a month and a half before our shortages become extreme. (→ #19)

(#19) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: I’ll do it. Take care of Levant while I’m gone. (→ #20)
  • 1: Can you do anything to help me? (→ #21)

(#20) Queen Calixa: Levant's survival is on the line. Make it happen. Find Kirouac and Laine in Monsoon as soon as you can. (→ end)

(#21) Queen Calixa: Unfortunately, the war has ravaged our treasury. We cannot afford to give you any support. I'm sorry. (→ #20)

(#22) Queen Calixa: We have enough food to last about a month. After that, there won't be enough to keep everyone in the slums fed. (→ #19)

(#23) Queen Calixa: We may have a task for you in the near future, [PlayerName]. One of our allies is teetering on the brink of ruin. If they fall, we will be in dire need of your service! (→ end)

(#24) Queen Calixa: I’m sorry, [PlayerName], but a lot of things weigh on my mind. The murder of my youngest son remains unsolved, and I fear that the one responsible will strike again. I cannot rest until the one responsible is brought to justice. (→ #25)

(#25) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: I’ll look into it, your highness. (→ end)
  • 1: I’m sure Cyrene will catch the culprit. Is there anything else that I can do to help Levant? (→ #0)

Heroic Peacemaker

(#0) Queen Calixa: The home front is quiet... for now. The fighting on the front lines of the war goes poorly. If it keeps going the way it is now, the war may come to Abrassar directly If that happens, be ready. (→ end)

(#1) (She breathes with difficulty... Her body is numb and paralyzed from the poison. Her armor somewhat softened the blow, but the bullet still pierced her skin. Elatt's power is keeping her alive, but just barely.) (→ end)

(#2) (She breathes with difficulty... Her body is numb and paralyzed from the poison. Her armor somewhat softened the blow, but the bullet still pierced her skin. Elatt's power is keeping her alive, but just barely.) (→ end)

(#3) Queen Calixa: Until the situation is dealt with, we will have to shut down all access to the Palace, even for you. We can't take any chances. Best of luck. (→ #19)

(#4) Queen Calixa: [PlayerName] urgent news has arrived. Messengers from the Hallowed Marsh have come. Elatt demands peace. Quite insistently. The Holy Mission is willing to handle negotiations to ensure that the peace is fair to us. (→ #5)

(#5) Queen Calixa: The Blue Chamber has entered a cease-fire until the negotiations happen, but who knows how long it will hold? (→ #6)

(#6) Queen Calixa: The Blue Chamber's armies have grown too strong, too quickly. This is the best hope we have of getting a fair deal. If we turn this down, we risk losing the war entirely, or risk them being able to make truly obscene demands of us. (→ #7)

(#7) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: The war has been devastating to all of us, I'm glad to see it end. (→ #8)
  • 1: After everything the Blue Chamber Collective has done to Levant? We're just going to let them off that easily? (→ #21)
  • 2: At least the Holy Mission and Elatt are known for being fair. If they're overseeing the peace negotiations, I can live with it. (→ #22)

(#8) King Simeon: Oh, I agree that the war needs to end too, for everyone's sake, but I'm just not comfortable making ourselves vulnerable like this. If it were anyone but Elatt asking us to make peace, I wouldn't even consider it. (→ #9)

(#9) Queen Calixa: Something has me on edge, though. As soon as this news arrived, Cyrene and Yzan disappeared, and some of our troops have vanished along with them. I suspect they mean to betray us to prevent these talks from happening. (→ #10)

(#10) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: You think they've taken the war too personally and would resort to treason? (→ #11)
  • 1: I trust Cyrene and Yzan, they wouldn't do something like that. (→ #11)
  • 2: Considering what's happened, I wouldn't be surprised if they're that desperate to avoid peace. (→ #11)

(#11) Queen Calixa: War does things to people's minds. Yzan can't forgive their support of the Sand Corsairs and Cyrene has taken the loss of so many of our troops very personally. I want to believe in them, but I can't ignore this possibility. (→ #12)

(#12) King Simeon: Likewise. They're good soldiers, but they and their troops have seen too much conflict. I have no doubt they believe continuing the war is the only acceptable course of action. (→ #13)

(#13) Queen Calixa: You have given us every reason to trust you, [PlayerName]. I need another encore performance of your talent. I need you to find Cyrene and Yzan, and if they are preparing to betray Levant, stop them however you can. (→ #14)

(#14) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: I'll find them, believe me. (→ #15)
  • 1: You trust me with this? You don't think I'd side against you? (→ #20)

(#15) Queen Calixa: I have no doubt. I just hope you find them before they do something all of us will regret. (→ #16)

(#16) King Simeon: They can't have left Abrassar. If the pair of them are plotting treason, they're likely hiding someplace nearby. Likely somewhere man-made. (→ #17)

(#17) King Simeon: We found a strange message in Yzan’s home, by the way. "Meet me where the boats used to be tied, high and dry. Come soon." Make of that what you will, it means little to me. (→ #18)

(#18) Queen Calixa: Until the situation is dealt with, we will have to shut down all access to the Palace, even for you. We can't take any chances. Best of luck. (→ #19)

(#19) Queen Calixa: Oh, that reminds me, under the terms of the cease-fire, your banishment from Berg has been lifted. If you return to Enmerkar in the future, you will be allowed to enter the city once more. (→ end)

(#20) Queen Calixa: I know that you understand that prolonging this war will lead to the destruction of Levant. Yes, I trust you. (→ #16)

(#21) King Simeon: Trust me, I'm not pleased about this either. As long as the Blue Chamber negotiates in good faith, I'm willing to listen. But if they're unreasonable, my fists will do the talking. (→ #9)

(#22) King Simeon: That's the only reason I'm giving Elatt's demand any consideration. After what the Blue Chamber did to us, the famine, everything, it'll take a god mediating these talks to get me to show up. (→ #9)

(#23) Queen Calixa: The home front is quiet... for now. The fighting on the front lines of the war goes poorly. If it keeps going the way it is now, the war may come to Abrassar directly If that happens, be ready. (→ end)
