Immunities and the Key

It's possible that this boss is immune to Confusion. When I used Probe during the fight, it did not appear to inflict Confusion. If it makes any difference, I had selected Rusted Hive Impact Absorber for its defense module. More testing may be needed.

On a different note, so far both characters I've defeated the Titanic Guardian Mk-7 with have received a duplicate Gemstone Key A. In addition to the key you can pick up beneath the remains of the boss, it also automatically deposited one into my inventory when the dialog box with the Forge Master appeared. This extra key may be a bug or an oversight, or perhaps even deliberate for whatever reason, but I thought it worth mentioning as a curiosity.

When I fought this boss with another character, Pommel Counter did not appear to inflict Confusion, either. Not only was there no visual effect, but Sweep Kick did not knock it down. I selected Ghostly Wendigo Armor Booster this time, though I have my doubts it makes any difference on status immunities. I'm quite sure now that it is immune to Confusion. It's possible that the boss may be immune to Pain as well. Granted, I may have simply not seen the visual effect for Pain because it's not as obvious as Confusion, but I didn't notice it when I hit the boss with Perfect Strike. Using Probe with the previous character would have inflicted Pain as well after failing to inflict Confusion, though I can't recall if it worked or not.

Okay, so the boss is definitely not immune to Pain, at least when it's set to Obsidian Scourge Repair Matrix (not that it matters, I'd bet). I paid extra close attention this time when I used Perfect Strike, though despite this I almost didn't notice the visual effect. The red swirls of Pain were closer to the arms/weapons (Drilling Swords) than center mass, making it difficult to see due to the sheer size of the boss because the effect was mostly outside of view when in close combat. If I ever fight it again with a character capable of inflicting Confusion, I'll be sure to back off and look around the outer areas of the golem's body to confirm or disprove my earlier observations.

Once more into the breach, again with Rusted Hive Impact Absorber, I've confused myself. Contrary to my last fight with this boss, this time hitting it with Perfect Strike three times yielded no visual effects of Pain. I also used Flash Onslaught and it did not show any indication of Confusion. Is it possible that the defense module actually does affect status immunities, that Rusted Hive Impact Absorber is a factor at play here? Or is there some other yet unknown component causing these discrepancies within my findings? Just when I'm starting to think I've got an understanding of the subject, something happens to muddle it up again. This is all still with the old, classic Outward, mind you.
