Walkthrough

Cabal of Winds Temple

The defeat scenario screen in Cabal of Winds Temple.
You flee desperately from the horrors that hunt you, trying desperately to shake them...Until you find yourself at a dead end and collapse, knowing your end has surely come...

A bright flash of light blinds you and you hear the sounds of combat not far away...A ghostly figure stands between you and the horrors, following some last protective instinct. Adrenaline pumping, you force yourself to your feet!

To begin the quest, players must first get the Saved by ghost at Cabal of Winds Temple defeat scenario, where they will be accompanied by William. This scenario will be guaranteed the first time you die in the Cabal Temple. This scenario does count as a hardcore defeat.

Enmerkar Forest

The ghost "???" at the Abandoned Docks south of Berg.

Find the ghost "???" at the Abandoned Docks south of Berg to officially start the quest.

A ghost stands harmlessly next to a corpse, forever trapped in the motion of reaching towards the pile of bones...You notice a small burial urn among the skeleton’s belongings...It is marked with symbols of the Cabal of Winds and of the Blue Chamber.

Perhaps this ghost was tasked with bringing those ashes someplace? In a moment of pity, you take not only the urn, but also the skull of this dead urn-bearer. If you find the destination the urn was intended for, perhaps you can lay these souls to rest...

Ancestor's Resting Place

The altar in Ancestor's Resting Place.

Head to Ancestor's Resting Place, entering from the main entrance north of Berg.

Walk down the staircase and then take the first left at the fork, into a room with an altar. Interact with the altar here and you will finish the quest and receive the shield.

The jar of ashes feels warm to the touch...It appears the soul is still present in this world and feels a bond with this altar...You place the jar on the altar, as well as the skull of the urn’s unfortunate bearer, and could swear that you hear a ghostly sigh of relief.

You’re about to turn away when a rusted old shield on the altar catches fire, burning away ages of rust! You feel a sense of warmth fill you as you pick it up...It seems the spirit of William has chosen to reward you for completing his pilgrimage!
