Dialogue

(#0) Zagis: Bow, Levantine rat. For you stand before the rightful king of Abrassar! I am Zagis, Chamberlord of Old Levant, lord of the Sand Corsairs. (→ #1)

(#1) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: So you're the leader of these murderous thugs. (→ #2)

(#2) Zagis: I do what I must in order to restore the rightful legacy of the Abrassar plains. Elatt gave away what he had no right to! Just because Calixa and Simeon slew the Devourer does not mean my people should surrender what is ours by right! (→ #3)

(#3) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: Your people abandoned Abrassar to the Scourge. Maybe it’s someone else’s turn to run things. (→ #4)
  • 1: Being recognized as the rulers of Abrassar means so much to you, that you’ll turn your people into bandits and murderers? (→ #4)

(#4) Zagis: They don’t even recognize the laws of the Blue Chamber! Without rigid tribal law, there is no hope for survival! (→ #5)

(#5) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: Levant seems to have survived pretty well without them, before you started trying to starve them to death and murdering traders. (→ #6)
  • 1: You’re just scared of change. So scared you turned Old Levant from tribes to be respected into a band of murdering bandits. (→ #6)

(#6) Zagis: That may be true. But it was all I could do to keep the flame of Old Levant alive. I will not be the one to extinguish that legacy! I would rather die than let Old Levant be destroyed! (→ #7)

(#7) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: Then the only way my people will be safe is to kill you. Defend yourself, Zagis! (→ end)
  • 1: Then surrender honorably. Take responsibility for your actions, and end this conflict before your people end up slaughtered! (→ #8)

(#8) Zagis: ... You’re right. I don’t want to admit it, but you’re right. There is no point in championing the ideals of Old Levant if there is no one left to look up to them. I will surrender. I will call off my warriors. (→ end)

Hive Prison

(#0) Zagis: Come to gloat, Levantin? Get out of here, and let me face my fate with dignity. (→ end)

(#1) Zagis: Hey, you. Mind getting me out of this death pit? My people need me. (→ #2)

(#2) Zagis: I can offer you something interesting in exchange for my freedom, traveller. A key that opens a secret entrance to the Palace in Levant. (→ #3)

(#3) Zagis: There's a smuggler's tunnel under the city of New Levant that connects the desert to the slums. Further along is a passage that leads to the Palace itself, or so I hear. With this key, you can get inside from there. (→ #4)

(#4) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: I'm not going to let you out. (→ #5)
  • 1: Who are you, really? (→ #6)
  • 2: Why should I let a criminal out of here? (→ #7)
  • 3: I'll get you out. Stand back while I break the lock. (→ #11)

(#5) Zagis: Fine. Then at least leave here, so I can face my fate with dignity! (→ end)

(#6) Zagis: Just someone who cares deeply about the fate of the tribes of Old Levant, it's why those rats squatting in their shiny "Heroic Kingdom" locked me up in here. I didn't do anything that they wouldn't have done. (→ #4)

(#7) Zagis: Criminal's a nasty word. I prefer to be called a freedom fighter. (→ #8)

(#8) Multiple-choice:

  • 0: What were you intending to do with that? (→ #9)
  • 1: What would I do with something like that? (→ #10)

(#9) Zagis: I hadn't decided yet. But something like this is always useful, wouldn't you say? (→ #4)

(#10) Zagis: None of my business, traveller. You do what you want with it. (→ #4)

(#11) Zagis: Old Levant owes you a great debt, traveller. Should we ever return to power in Abrassar, I will gladly reward you with riches and power. Now, get me out of this place! (→ end)
