Initial Details
My main goal for this build was creating an unstoppable force (using just my fists) that doesn't heavily rely on Prismatic Flurry to deliver big damage. That being said, while wearing the Shadow Kazite set you're always primed to use it with quick cooldowns when you want to.
Gauntlets
This build is a super high DPS machine with the Astral Knuckles generating a base 1.2 attack speed plus 3 different element types (using varnish/molepig sigh or fulmination) and inflict Scorched & Haunted.
With the gauntlets being the fastest weapon type and the Astral Knuckles being the fastest gauntlets, that makes these the fastest weapon in the game and a DPS powerhouse when imbued. I recommend having two sets of the Astral Knuckles (One with Molepig Sigh, one with Fulmination). This works well with our totem hex's, makes us more versatile, and helps with durability between battles.
Armor
The enchanted Shadow Kazite set is lightweight, agile, AND tanky. With Runic Protection/Holy Mission passives and Caldera Chapel upgrades we have a protection of 22 inside the totems. This gives us the confidence we need to fight in a phonebooth with the biggest enemies in the game.
Additionally, we have 24 barrier inside the totems (with Barrier potion and Chapel passive), and 30 status resist if we take embassy upgrade in Caldera, allowing us to not worry about anything besides being knocked down, which temporarily halts our DPS onslaught. Most enemies that focus on elemental attacks stand very little chance against this build since they usually revert to basic melee once we close the distance and start punching them in the face at warp speed.
Utility
This build relies on imbues and I always keep a few Dark Varnish, Ice Varnish, Fire Varnish, Spiritual Varnish, and Bolt Varnish in my backpack so I'm ready for whatever I encounter. Stability Potions are extremely useful with this build as we're going to be fist fighting gigantic enemies and we need to remain on our feet to keep dealing damage.
Substitutes
~[You can sub chest and boots for Antique Plate Garb w/ Spirit of Harmattan and Tenebrous Boots w/ Speed and Efficiency for damage bonus over protection, though it takes away from the aesthetics in my opinion, and the RP aspect of being a Kazite warrior as well.]~
Combat
The key to this build is simply using the correct elemental imbue for the opponent we're facing. I will often change my boon/varnish quickslots depending on what enemy I'm fighting. Since everything inside the totem rings is inflicted with Haunted & Doomed, Spiritual Varnish & Bolt Varnish are a good baseline to run in our quickslots with their corresponding boons.
Other than that, it's a very simple approach to fighting most enemies;
- If the enemy has little defense, we just pop our boon, imbue our fists and initiate combat.
- If the opponent has a shield, we follow the prior routine, but initiate with mana push or sweep kick and start pounding away once we've lowered their defenses/stability bar.
- For boss battles or fights with more than a few enemies, we start with placing our totems. (If we're fighting a single boss, it's business as usual and we just use our totems for improved defense.)
- If we're fighting a mob, we utilize the crowd control of our totems while maintaining distance from our foes and letting the totems do most of the work until their numbers have thinned.
Majority of the time you won't even need to block or dodge, just keep punching until everything is dead. (Watch attached video) This build is a perfect example of "The best defense is a good offense."
Post Fight
If the totems have been used properly we can use Nurturing Echo to fully restore all spent Mana, Health, and Stamina without spending utility.
