Mouths to Feed is the third faction quest for The Heroic Kingdom of Levant in Outward, and sixth in the series of main quests.

Timer

This quest has a timer of between 25 and 35 days, depending on whether or not you chose to help the Slums during Sand Corsairs (35 if you did, 25 if you chose "a favor we can call whenever we need it").

If you do not solve the matters of this quest (ie. pay the Caravanner to deliver the Marshmelons) in the time frame, you will not obtain Alchemical Experiment, and several NPCs in the Slums will die including:

• Styx
• Pigeoneye
• All other unnamed NPCs

Walkthrough

1. Report to Queen Calixa in the Palace in Levant
2. Go to the city of Monsoon and talk to Monsoon's alchemist, Laine Aberforth.
   • On your way, collect 5 Marshmelon and 1 Phytosaur horn
   • You can also obtain the Ornate Granite Tablet on your way, at the Spire of Light
   • Laine will ask you to gather 5 Marshmelons and 1 Phytosaur Horn.
   • Click here for a map showing Marshmelon locations.
   • Give the items to Laine and wait 12 hours for the experiment to finish, then talk to him again.
     • The quest journal will not update after waiting 12 hours, so just talk to him again after waiting 12 hours.
3. Speak to a Soroborean Caravaneer in Monsoon regarding transporting a Marshmelon plant.
   • He will ask you to go fetch an Ornate Granite Tablet in Spire of Light, southeast of Hallowed Marsh.
4. Bring an ancient tablet to the Soroborean Caravaneer.
   • The Tablet at the Spire of Light is sealed behind a barrier, you will have to flip all barrier levers in the main Spire of Light area to get the stone tablet.
   • It is not required to fight Light Mender to get the stone tablet, even though you will have to flip a switch behind the portal that will initiate some dialogue with the Light Mender, simply end the dialogue by pressing escape or the menu button.
   • After returning to Soroborean Caravaneer, he will ask you additional 300 silver.
     • If you chose to "call in a favor" from Clayton in the last quest, you will have the option to use this favor now.
5. Return to Queen Calixa in Levant for your rewards.

Outcomes

Success

• 1 Ornate Pistol
• 2 Gold Ingot
• Alchemical Experiment, a passive skill that increases all damage dealt by 15%.

Failure

• 2 Great Life Potion
• 1 Ornate Pistol
