Patch Notes

  • Outward's Definitive Edition is released.

General

  • A total of 43 new Defeat Scenarios were added.
  • Cooking and Alchemy recipes can now be viewed within the Survival Crafting window.
  • Many DLC-exclusive items, gatherables and enemies were spread out through all regions
  • Totem Workshops were added to all regions, as a way to craft Ghost Drum and Sky Chimes
  • Players can ask Evangeline Vallier to send out workers on an expedition to hunt for a specific rare sample, after handing in 10 or more of any sample for identification.
  • Campfire and Plant Tent can now be destroyed by the player
  • Cities are now affected by area reset, meaning players cannot make use of permanent "hobo camps" anymore without fear of losing their items. Item spawns and loot containers will now reset in cities. Player Houses are not affected by area reset.
  • Corruption zones are now found in all regions
  • Stashes now share their contents between all locations. During online play, characters will only be able to access their own stash instead of seeing the other character's stash.

Visual

  • Health bars now flash with a red or grey colour depending on whether the target is weak to or resistant to an element they were attacked with, respectively.
  • Added twelve new character face styles (two per race/gender combination).
  • There are now several new title screen backgrounds. A background is chosen at random every time the title screen is visited.

Attributes and mechanics

  • Protection Protection now affects Impact.png Impact damage, the same way that it affects Physical Physical damage.
  • Damage bonus now applies to Traps.
  • Imbues now check which attack was performed for the damage. Eg, if you do a special attack it will apply its damage multiplier to the special attack damage instead of the base weapon damage.
  • The weight of a backpack now applies at the start of equipping animation rather than at its end, so it is no longer possible to sprint with an over-encumbered backpack during the pickup animation.

Balancing

  • Many enemies had balancing adjustments
    • In general, most enemies were buffed slightly. Protection Protection is more common on enemies now.
  • Various equipment and weapons were adjusted
    • 1H Axes, 1H Swords, Spears and Polearms were buffed across the board.
    • Some items sell prices were adjusted
    • DLC stats such as Cooldown Cooldown Reduction, Corruption Corruption resistance and Barrier Barrier were added to more equipment
    • The amount of corruption gained from various consumables was increased
  • In Vendavel Fortress, the prisoner purchase Iron Scrap off the player for 2 silver each.

Enemies

Technical

  • Unity version upgraded from 2018.4.4 to 2020.3.26
  • Added new gameplay setting Controller Assignation.
